Kendal Herz

About twenty years ago my friend Lillian served cold pressed apple cider in clay tumblers made by local artist Del Martin. I enjoyed drinking from the hand made cup so much that I soon after signed up for Bill Van Guilder's Pottery School. I've been making wood fired and hand painted ceramics ever since!

All of my pots are made on the back porch of my cabin which is located in the Frederick Municipal Forest on the bank of Fishing Creek. I'm inspired by the natural beauty, history, and communities of this region and hope that my pots carry with them some of the spirit of the place they are made.
