JACK SCHOELLER
Years later, after nudging, gifts of ceramic tools, and the slow death of my vintage pieces, I am back again, often covered in clay, either at home hand building in Frederick or at the studio in Harpers Ferry.
I throw and make functional ware but am frequently drawn to hand- built forms that contrast natural contours with sharp architectural lines and layered surfaces produced by mixing clay bodies, stenciling, mono-printing, slips and firing in wood, soda or salt.
