Cathy Potter was a student at the Frederick Pottery School for many years. During that time, she moved from working on the wheel to hand-building, which is now her focus. In 2008 she decided to broaden her experiences by joining the Potters’ Guild of Frederick. She is still exploring what she wants to be when she grows up in terms of her pottery. She continues to study the many possibilities of clay with her friends in the Guild. Her signature “Ikebasu” is her Japanese maiden name.
